Gym Buddy

You don't need to be a fitness fanatic for this role!

Many of the people attending the facility are there at the suggestion of their doctor, and undertaking a planned programme of activity. A number have experienced medical setbacks such as strokes, or other impairments.

Your role as a buddy is to help these people, many of whom have not been near a gym before, to feel at ease in the environment. 

By chatting and offering a friendly face you can help participants to feel more confident about using the machines, and carrying out the prescribed exercises. 

You will not be expected to write or adjust programmes as there are gym instructors on hand to do this. There are sometimes possibilities for progression to paid roles within the gym. There are also opportunities to participate in first aid training sessions etc.

Caring, friendly individuals required to support the qualified team.

The role would be suitable for anyone who has an interest in supporting people to improve their health & wellbeing through physical activity.

No gym or medical qualifications necessary
