Serve is a successful local charity providing a range of support services to older people and disabled people in the community, it aims to maintain the independence of its service users through provision of domiciliary and personal care, transport, wellbeing classes, day centre, as well as exercise groups. We have ambitious plans for the future expansion.
We are looking for volunteers to join our door to door shopping service for older people who are unable to get out for their groceries. You will have regular service users that you visit who will be close to your home location. The shopping service is a membership scheme that service users sign up to for a year. Then they will pay you a set amount of money each visit for your mileage expenses.
This is a person centred service where you can build up a relationship with people and really get to know them, full lone worker training will be provided and you will be supported by our Wellbeing Manager Gemma Hager.
We would like you to enter the individuals home to assist by putting their shopping away as part of the service. We look forward to hearing from you!
