Business Volunteering Overview

What can Business Volunteers do?

There are a range of small local groups to large national charities across Northamptonshire which need volunteers.  The Business Volunteering Scheme aims to match employees’ time, skills, and enthusiasm to support their local community with non-profit organisations in need of their help. This can be organised as a Team Challenge, or as individual volunteering, and will give employees the opportunity to learn new skills, to build cross-functional teams and have some fun!  Volunteering as a team can make a real difference to voluntary groups with limited funds and resources. Examples could be:

  • Painting/Decorating
  • Gardening/Landscaping
  • Conservation
  • Day Trip or Christmas/Summer Party

The Business Volunteering Skill Share Scheme matches skills such as marketing, website construction, CV writing, interviewing techniques, finance etc.  Employees from local companies can share their business skills with voluntary groups through one-off tasks.
