Local Infrastructure Organisations from West Northants launch new collaborative.

7 August 2024

Social Action West Northants (SAWN); a new collaborative of Local Infrastructure Organisations (LIOs) serving the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprises (VCSE) sector of West Northants.

South Northants Volunteer Bureau (SNVB), Daventry Volunteer Centre (DVC) and Voluntary Impact Northampton (VIN) will work together as Social Action West Northants (SAWN). The collaborative will pool expertise, experience, knowledge and networks to amplify their offer and create lasting change in the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector in West Northants.

The advent of West Northants as a new unitary authority gives this new collaborative an opportunity to foster innovation, explore new approaches to funding solutions, pilot projects more efficiently and adapt swiftly to community needs.

Helen Barrett, CEO of South Northants Volunteer Bureau, commented: “The agility we reap from operating as the SAWN collaborative positions us for success in an ever-evolving local landscape. As a united front, we can advocate for policies that benefit our communities. Our shared voice carries more weight, influencing decision-makers and driving positive change. I believe that this partnership is fit for the present and designed for the future. We envision stronger communities, empowered volunteers, and a flourishing West Northants. Together we will build a strong legacy of community success.”
