A new countywide befriending project led by Serve based in Rushden has been launched.
Working with the Northamptonshire Health & Care Partnership and partners; Daventry Volunteer Centre and Voluntary Impact Northamptonshire the aim is to provide volunteer befriending support to vulnerable, lonely isolated adults in the county.
Volunteers are urgently required across the areas – Serve covering East Northants, Wellingborough, Kettering and Corby, Daventry Volunteer Centre covering Daventry and South Northants and Voluntary Impact Northamptonshire covering Northampton.
Research shows that older people living on their own risk loneliness and social isolation especially true during the Covid-19 pandemic.
