Planning Assistant Role

Analysing specific planning applications and potential impact on the countryside and rural enviroment 

Occasionally visiting proposed development sites in order to gain more in-depth knowledge of the application

Attending regular local planning technical group meetings and reporting on specific applications and their progress

Liasing with parish and the Northamptonshire unitary councils and other conservation bodies

Liasing with planning representatives at CPRE national office to be aware of changes in national planning policy development 

Skills

An interest in the countryside and enviromental issues 

Previous experience in the planning sector and knowledge of the planning system is desirable but not essential.  Training will be given

An eye for detail and an interest in investigation work

Motivation to carry out tasks independently and as part of a team

Good written and verbal communication skills

To be computer literate and have access to a computer and the internet at home
