Telephone Befriender

If you have at least an hour a week available, enjoy talking to people, and listening to their life stories, please consider becoming a telephone befriender.

As a volunteer telephone befriender, you will be matched with a person who is currently experiencing loneliness and isolation. Your role as a befriender is to contact them on a regular basis, on a time that suits you both, and provide some much needed social conversation.

Many of our volunteers experience the joy of making new friendships, sharing memories and knowing they are giving back to their local community.

Skills

No formal qualifications are required.

We are looking for people who are good listeners, enjoy talking to people and have a sense of humour.
