Happy@Home Befriender - Daventry District

Happy@Home befrienders provide a lifeline for elderly people who are feeling socially isolated and vulnerable in the community. Our befrienders help provide information on services available in the community and a listening ear, these volunteers may be the persons only contact with the outside world. Usually our befrienders visit an older person in their own home once a week. Some of our befrienders support an elderly person by helping them to get out for a short walk or a trip to the shops or a coffee in a café.

All our volunteer befrienders receive training and are DBS checked and are supported by our project co-ordinators

If you have an hour a week  and like talking to older people,  then why not contact us for an informal chat and more information.
