The New Street Centre Cafe are looking for volunteers to join the team to help with preparing, cooking and serving a community lunch for elderly people on a Thursday lunchtime. These lunches are put on for elderly people to come along and enjoy a hot home cooked meal.
The menu consists of a main meal, dessert and we also provide teas and coffees.
The role might include:
- Peeling and preparing vegetables, desserts and other food ready to serve on a Thursday at 12.00 pm
- Writing shopping lists
- Buying ingredients
- Serving the hot lunches
- Clearing up the kitchen afterwards
Our lunches are very popular as the New Street Centre is a lovely warm and welcoming place for people to come and meet new friends as well as meet up with their old friends.
