We have a fantastic opportunity for a volunteer to join our team as a Borrow Hub Assistant.
The Doddridge Borrow Hub is a vibrant community space where you can borrow a wide array of items and tools, promoting sharing and sustainability.
From kitchen gadgets, electronics, and camping gear to DIY tools, this library offers an impressive collection of things for all kinds of projects, hobbies, and adventures. Whether you need a tent for a weekend getaway, a power drill for a quick home repair, or a projector for a movie night, the Borrow Hub makes it easier and more affordable to access the items you need without having to buy them. It’s a space where neighbours come together to share resources, reduce waste, and encourage a culture of reuse.
The collection is constantly evolving, and members can suggest new items or borrow what they need for a specific time, giving them access to a world of possibilities.
Visit our catalogue to see the full list of items available and reserve online. The Borrow Hub is an exciting initiative, supported by a generous grant from the West Northamptonshire Council Household Support Fund. Managed by the Doddridge Centre Limited, a charity based in St James, Northampton, the Borrow Hub is a community resource designed to make everyday items and equipment accessible to all.
Whether you need tools for DIY, camping gear for your next adventure, kitchen gadgets, or even craft supplies, the Borrow Hub allows you to borrow a wide variety of items on a short-term basis. This new resource aims to promote sustainability, reduce waste, and provide local residents with affordable access to things they may only need occasionally.
Thanks to the support of the Household Support Fund, the Borrow Hub will help create a more connected and resourceful community, encouraging people to share, reuse, and support each other. The Borrow Hub is open to all, with the collection continually growing based on local needs and suggestions. Run by the Doddridge Centre, this project reflects the charity’s mission to improve lives and strengthen community ties in St James and beyond.
