Administrative Assistant - Community Development

We are seeking a dedicated and trustworthy volunteer to provide administrative and communications support to our team. This role plays an important part in helping us deliver services to some of the most vulnerable individuals in our community. The successful volunteer will assist with a range of administrative tasks, including scanning, naming, and electronically filing documents, as well as writing up and formatting notes from meetings or discussions. Full training and guidance will be provided to ensure confidence and accuracy in these duties. In addition, the role will involve supporting the creation and scheduling of social media posts. While previous experience in this area would be an advantage, training can be provided for someone who is enthusiastic and willing to learn. To undertake this role, the volunteer will need access to a laptop or computer and must be highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to maintain strict confidentiality at all times. Due to the nature of the work, some materials may contain sensitive or distressing information, so emotional resilience and a non-judgmental attitude are essential. Although the volunteer will not attend client meetings, they may occasionally review notes or documents that discuss challenging topics. Comprehensive support and regular debriefing will be available, with the option of additional mental health support if required. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone who wishes to develop administrative or communication skills while contributing to meaningful, community-focused work. To express your interest or request further information about this volunteer role, please contact us — we would be pleased to hear from you.
