Online Peer Supporters

GamCare provide one-to-one and group support to both individuals who gamble and those affected by someone else's gambling.  They do ask that you have personal experience.

GamCare is the leading provider of information, advice and support for anyone affected by gambling harms. They operate the National Gambling Helpline, provide structured support for anyone who is harmed by gambling, create awareness about safer gambling and treatment, and encourage an effective approach to safer gambling within the gambling industry.

Skills

For any of the volunteering roles they ask that you have personal lived experience of gambling-related harms. This includes being affected by someone else’s gambling (friend or family member). They ask that you’ve been in positive, sustained recovery for at least one year before volunteering.

This role is completely remote, so you’ll need access to a reliable internet connection, a computer and a confidential space.

To volunteer you must currently reside within the United Kingdom.
