Social Group Volunteer

There are 23,000 visually impaired people in Northamptonshire; loneliness is a common but rarely discussed issue. Do you enjoy being an active part of the community and want to find a way of giving back and supporting others? If you are also well organised, outgoing and want to expand your experience and enhance your CV this volunteering role may be for you. NAB Sight Support for Northamptonshire are looking for Social Group Volunteers that are able to support, organise and run events. Our social groups take place monthly throughout the year in various parts of the county. They allow visually impaired individuals to meet up and enjoy the company of others in a similar situation. These events are fun and informal with light refreshments and we often welcome different speakers and entertainment. As a volunteer you will help organising these events, sourcing day trips/meals/speakers and organising raffles. You will need to be well organised, confident in talking to a variety of different people, trustworthy, reliable and enthusiastic about making a difference. Full training and support will be provided. Role requires: two character references, complete a DBS check attend one of our Sight Awareness and Guide Training sessions.
