Rothwell Community Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) will be set up to govern and implement the Rothwell Town Council Health and Wellbeing Strategy.
The CIO will provide the governance framework and operational capacity needed to deliver the Strategy through effective partnership working, meaningful community engagement, and inclusive services and activities. Establishing the CIO will enable us to access a wider range of funding opportunities, undertake fundraising in our own right, and benefit from charitable tax reliefs such as Gift Aid. This will give the Council greater flexibility, sustainability, and impact in delivering health and wellbeing outcomes for residents.
Our Vision: a community that supports and promotes health and wellbeing for all, to improve health and wellbeing outcomes and reduce health inequalities by 2030, working with partners across Rothwell Town and Northamptonshire.
This vision reflects our commitment to a healthier, happier Rothwell where every individual can reach their full potential. Our CIO aims to create a thriving community for current and future generations.
Overall purpose of the role:
Our trustees are legally responsible for the governance of the CIO. This means they must make sure that Rothwell Community CIO achieves its objectives, which are set out in our governing document. The trustees ensure that we have a strategy, and that our assets and resources are only used for charitable purposes in line with the governing document. Trustees make sure that we operate in line with any relevant laws, particularly the Charities and Companies Acts.
Trustees have a collective responsibility – they work together for the best interests of Rothwell Community CIO
